I am cataloguing all the sock yarns that I have knit with. Find the link to the other collections here or by clicking on the Socks Tab in my menu.
Here is the collection of Drops socks I have knit so far. I will update this post as I knit more of their colourways.
4ply Sock Yarns
Drops Delight
Light Blue Print
These socks were knit 64 stitches on 2.5mm(US 1.5) needles. Socks knit in 2×2 ribbing. I did not attempt to match the stripes. As a side note I found this yarn to be very loosely spun and so it kept splitting or catching on my needles and I did not enjoy knitting with it very much.

Drops Fabel
Ocean View Long Print 604
These socks were knit 64 stitches on 2.5mm(US 1.5) needles. I did not attempt to match the stripes. I knit these in 2×2 ribbing with a garter stitch heel.

Berry Dreams Print 330
I knit these socks 64 stitches on 2.5mm(US 1.5) needles. I matched the stripes as best as I could. I used another yarn for the cuffs, heels and toes; they are not part of the colourway.

Thank you!

Oh my goodness I know right! Everyone I see seems to be knitting with 2.25mm. I know that I do tend to have a tight gauge so maybe that has something to do with it.
I have not tried the fishlips kiss heel as everyone I knit socks for seems to have a high instep so the heel flap fits much better. I haven’t actually seen other people do a full garter stitch heel either, I just decided to try it as I know that garter stitch is nice and stretchy.

I have updated my post to explain it since you are probably not the only one wondering that π

I agree it does look lovely βΊοΈ. I recently decided to start cataloguing all the different sock yarns that I have knit as I realised I have knit so many! Last week I did a post on all the West Yorkshire Spinners socks I have knit. I will keep updating these posts as I knit more of them. The collections are listed under the socks tab on this website π

WOW. That Drops Delight is beautiful. Guess I missed why you are knitting different types of yarn from DROPS.

I thought I was one of the few who uses 2.5mm needles for socks (and 64 stitches) I am liking the colorways of the Drops you have shown. Matching stripes is not an easy task. I only use 2 heels. Eye of partridge and fish kiss lips. Never heard of the garter heel. It looks very cushioned so might be a great one for something like hiking boots.

That’s a great question. I have never knit a plain stockinette heel I have only done 2 types. The garter stitch and a slip stitch stockinette. The garter is definitely less stiff than the slipstitch but I also find it hugs round the heel better. I have recently combined the two doing 3 garter stitches on either side of the slip stitch and I find I like that the best.

When you knit a heel in garter stitch does it come out tighter or loser than using stocking stitch. Just wondered as I have never tried that as an alternative and apart from socks I am not a great knitter?
