2023 Projects 004 Knitted Skinny Scarf

Dear Readers,

In January I knitted my mother a scarf which I sort of made up the pattern for so I have just called it the skinny scarf. It was inspired by a whole lot of scarves I had been seeing on Instagram. A pattern for that scarf is avaliable called the Sophie Scarf, but I made up my own version. I had some yarn in stash which I had initially purchased for myself but then I came to realise that it was not really a colour that I would enjoy wearing all that much and my mom hinted that it was a colour that she would enjoy wearing… and thus it all happened.

Pattern: based on the Sophie Scarf but made up.
Yarn: LilyRose; Wemmick Sock; Nest of the missel Thrush
Yardage: 336m/100g
Fibre content: 75% Superwash Merino 25% Nylon
Yarn Source: Natural Yarns, Imhoff’s Gift £‎11.50
Gauge:
Needles: 3,5mm
Size: 1 skein
Start: 13th January 2023
Finish: 18th January 2023

Notes: About 7grams were leftover
LilyRose is a South African hand dyer.

Something I like about this scarf is that because it is long and skinny there are many ways to wear it. You can just wrap it around your neck, you can fold it inhalf and then loop it round your neck, you can wrap it once and then tie a little bow.

My mother told me that she was really enjoying wearing this scarf! I am so glad. I am planning to make myself one too, I just need to find the perfect colour first. I really want a blue, pink and purple pastel combination.

I hope that you are well. Stay Crafty!
Peace and Love
