Washing experience:
It is nice to be able to wash it in the washing machine. I dried it flat and it did not take too long to get dry which was also nice. I did not experience any noticeable change in the feel of the swatch after washing.
Other Thoughts:
The quality of the yarn is good, it is not overly scratchy like some cheaper wool acrylic blends can be and I actually plan to use this for a crochet pattern design that I have coming up.
Price comparison:
At the time of writing James C Brett With Wool Aran is available at
Woolwarehouse for : £8.29 for 400g (this is 80% acrylic 20% wool)
At the time of writing Hayfield Bonus Aran Tweed is available at :
Woolwarehouse : £9.99 for 400g (74% Acrylic, 20% Wool, 6% Viscose)
HobbyCraft : £12 for 400g
Aldi Aran Charcoal is £4.99 for 400g so it is significantly cheaper than the two yarns above.
I hope that you found this review useful. If you have any suggestions about other things you would have wanted to know about the yarn please let me know in the comments below and of course if you have any questions please do let me know too.
Keep Crafty!
