I am sorry that this post is a little late. I really am terrible at posting on the weekend. Husband works late most weekdays so I cherish my time with him on the weekend <3.
So here are the next 6 days of my fibre advent calendar.
Dear Readers
I am so excited to share the first 6 days of my fibre advent calendar with you!

This year I bought myself my first ever advent calendar, other than those chocolate ones my parents would occasionally buy when I was a kid. And I bought a fibre calendar!

Since my thumb is still out of action and my crafting is moving forward very slowly I thought that I would share with you about my knitting journal.
Dear Readers,
This week I am writing this post ahead of time, on Saturday, so hopefully it will be all on time tomorrow instead of being posted on a Monday haha.
Dear Readers,
The time has finally come for me to share with you my experience of spinning shetland.
Dear Readers,
Woe is me. It seems that I have finally been forced to only use blocks now. I don’t know if there was a change when I had my computer catastrophe (more on that later) or if it is just a new thing they have effected now. I am currently in corrospondence with them about not being able to use my spell check with WordPress. So please do forgive any spelling errors.

Rose City Rollers for Husband. I am now on the foot of the second sock for this pair so I do hope to be finished with them by the end of next week.
Jumpers
My Little Pony: (This link leads to Ravelry) This is my Festive Cheer Cardigan designed by Pat Menchini. This one is 99.9% done! It just needs a button but I have checked my stash and I do not have a suitable button. But it has been washed and blocked, seamed up and all the ends are even woven in! I was a little nervous to start seaming it as I have not had a lot of practice at knitting garments flat but I read on Google that you should start with the shoulders and away I went! I can’t wait to wear it.
Purple Hand Spun Jumper : I have finally cast on this cardigan! I am using an old pattern from a booklett that I inherited from my Grandmother. It is just a very simple stockinette cardigan. I can’t wait to see how this handspun knits up!
Shetland Fleece:ย I finished plying this up and washed the skein. I lost a while 6 grams to dirt haha that was a badly washed fleece on my part!
ย
So that is it for my crafty things this week. We finally finished the big project I was working on. It was only just over 2 weeks of work but I am glad that I can get back to my usual crafty life! And also get back to my housework! Husband’s job is permenant and he is not used to doing the house work so he was not the one cleaning when I was working. So the house kind of got left too long and was in a sorry state by the time my job finished.
On the second last day of the job my laptop just switched off and refused to turn on! Thankfully Husband has both a personal laptop (as opposed to his work one) and a spare PC. So for the first day I worked on his laptop, my work was thankfully all backed up off site, then in the evening he did a clean install of windows on his spare computer and that is sort of mine now. We also managed to copy off everything off my laptop harddrive so I haven’t lost anything hooray! But I do need to spend some time reinstalling a bunch of programs and also doing a past due sort out of my files.
I hope that you have been having a wonderful crafty weekend!
Peace and Love
Ellie
Dear Readers,
For this week I have decided to switch back to WordPress Classic Editor and it seems that the emoticons work in this format so I guess I will stick to classic until WordPress forces me to switch over.

๐ย Angel Pattern This I got From Rainbow Junkie Blog. I worked on this project a little this week. I have finished it as far as the pattern is concerned but I think that I still want to embellish it with some beads and things before I call it done.
๐ ๐ฆDog: I am mostly finished with the Dog, I just need to add a mouth and maybe some eyeshine.
Socksย
๐ ๐ฆRose City Rollers for Husband. I have finished sock #1 of this pair. The cuff and heel are knitted in Rico Design Superba Degrade 005. And the rest of the sock is knitted in King Cole Zig Zag : Ocean. I love how closely these two colourways match!
Jumpers
๐ My Little Pony: I have started the first sleeve this week too. The pattern has instructions for a sleeve that is knitted flat but as I am much faster in the round and I can’t think of a good reason for knitting a stockinette sleeve flat… I am knitting it round.
Shetland: I have been trying to do some combing most evenings this week and I am happy with the progress that I have made so far.
Not counting what I impatiently spun up, I have 41g of coarse fibre combed. I have 51g of the mixed light and dark grey fibre combed. And I have 34g of combed fibre from before I decided to split it by colour differences.ย I still have a box of light and a box of dark to comb. My guess is that I have another 75-100g of fibre to comb before I am done with the combing.
I have collected the “waste” from the combing that was still cleaning and I am saving it for when I finally have carders and a carding board to make rolags. (I do have two dog brushes but I don’t really know how to make rolags with them)
I am also collecting the dirty bits so that I can weigh it all at the end. I will be composting what I think is too dirty to be used for another purpose. I am fairly happy with the amount of waste fibre I am getting although I wonder if I was better at combing if I would get less waste.
I have some excellent news and bad news all rolled into one.
I have had some work come my way. Unfortunately it is not fibre work. Many moons ago I worked as a website builder working in HTML and CSS. So this work is on building a website for someone.
Excellent news is that more money = more yarn/fibre supplies!
Bad news is more work = less time for knitting / spinning / crochet / pattern designing
So I have quite a few ideas and fun things that I really want to get into, including an idea for some yarn reviews on my blog. But these are all going to have to take a back seat until my work with the website is done.
I hope that you have been having a super wonderful crafty week!
Peace and Love,
Ellie
Dear Readers,
Today’s post is going to be a bit of a weird one for me as I am going to try and do this all from my phone. Apologies in advance for any weird mishaps. It also seems that I can’t add the emojies with my phone ๐ฆ so today’s post will be sans the key.
